Podcasts 1 and 2

We have the first two sessions up.

There is something incredibly fun about starting with the game with combat. It gives the players a chance to see what the overall tone of the story is and what they are going to be up against. It also provides the GM with a mechanism to gauge how unpredicatable the PCs will be in their problem solving.

I found these to be a great a start to my story. The only problem was that right off of the bat I was off script. I hadn’t really expected our intrepid heros to go racing off into the night and was pretty much winging it from the moment that they stepped out the door. I also hadn’t expected Hectar to roll THREE critical failures on his perception checks. Wow. That is just unfortunate.

My lesson learned from this was that my PCs are somewhat impulsive and aren’t burdened with the need for tedious planning and thinking things through. Let’s see if I can steer them back towards where the story was supposed to be going, or if they will start a spree of shooting up churches for no discernable reason.
